Bessey Hall Bioinformatics Facility
This common-use facility houses six high-end workstations (four running Windows XP and/or Linux, and two running Mac OS X), a document scanner and a gel scanner, as well as a networked color laser printer, exclusively for bioinformatics and graphics. In addition to housing a variety of bioinformatics, statistics, and graphics software and tools, including GeneSpring, Pathway Studio, and others, all of computers have secure telnet access to a multiprocessor Sun server housed in the Molecular Biology Building, which serves additional bioinformatics applications. The computers have secure connections through the campus network for data transfer, remote access, and network printing.
